About

The atelier is a room and a table

(001)   Origin

Aemouma began the way most small labels do — with a garment that could not be bought anywhere, so it had to be made. What started as one coat became a pattern, and the pattern became a practice.

There is no team. There is no production partner. Cloth arrives in lengths of a few metres, gets drafted flat, cut on the table, and sewn on a machine that is older than the label. When the length runs out, that garment stops existing.

(002)   Standing rules

  • Made byOne person, start to finish
  • Run sizeHowever many the cloth allows
  • Lead timeTwo to six weeks for a commission
  • RepairsFree, for the life of the garment

(003)   On repairs

Send it back and it gets mended.

A split seam, a lost button, a worn elbow — post the piece back and it is repaired at no cost, however long you have had it. A garment that can be fixed is a garment that does not get replaced.
